DS 300 is a multifunction measurement instrument for industrial applications. The base unit consists of a LCD graphics display, 2 relay outputs, USB interface in a panel/wall mountable casing. Through various options DS 300 can be configured to specific customer requirements. These options include: data recording, RS-485-interface, sensor inputs for CS flow and dew point sensors, sensor inputs for process signals (0-1V, 0-10V, 0-20 mA, 4-20mA) and temperature sensors (thermocouples, Pt100, Pt1000).

Industrial communication

Measurement in industrial environment often lacks of convenient acquisition and monitoring. The operator would like to have all measurement values on the screen in the office area rather than walking from one instrument to the other to get the readings. CS is offering various solutions to bring information from the factory to the office. Basically DS 300 supports following filedbus options:

RS-485-Bus
RS-485 bus is commonly used in industrial applications. It can reach up to 1000 m distance with a shielded twisted pair cable. If further distance is required, a repeater can be installed to reach another 1000 m. For the communication protocol the user can select CSBus (internal CS protocol for CS-Monitor software) or Modbus for third party software (SCADA). Through a RS-485 / USB converter the system is connected to a USB port of the office PC.

Ethernet
Since Ethernet is commonly available in offices it becomes more and more poplar in industrial environment as well. DS 300 can be connected to an Ethernet switch or router and through the software CS-Monitor (CSM-S or CSM-M) accessed as if DS 300 would be connected directly to an USB port at the PC.
